- Stronglifts 5×5 is another fun way to change up your routine. The 5×5 uses squat, bench press, deadlift, overhead press, and barbell row. You do 3 exercises each workout and 5 reps of each. Unlike most strength routines, you aren’t trying to max out with 5 reps — the goal is to add weight. You start with a relatively light weight, focus on form, and add 5 pounds for each workout as long as you can. This simple routine will help you see amazing improvements.
Many weight lifters discount the amazing training benefits of training with bodyweight. It’s satisfying to throw around weights in the gym, but strength workouts with bodyweight only are an effective way to focus on form and stability.
